Trust Pari
Trust Pari is a contraceptive injection containing a progestin (150 mg Medroxyprogesterone acetate). It is injected intramuscularly (usually the upper arm or buttocks) by a healthcare professional every 3 months. It is also known as DMPA-IM.

Trust Pari prevents pregnancy by:
- Supressing ovulation (release of an egg)
- Thickening the cervical mucus, so sperm cannot reach the egg
- Thinning the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation
- Provides 12 weeks of contraception from 1 single injection
Trust Pari can be used by women who:
- Cannot use combined oral contraceptives
- Are breast feeding (infant over the age of 6 weeks old)
- Who have just completed an abortion or miscarriage
Trust Pari is not recommended for women who have:
- Severe hypertension, ischemic heart disease or history of stroke
- A history of or active breast cancer, liver cancer or severe liver disease
- Vascular disease or acute deep venous thrombosis
- Effective pregnancy prevention
- Discrete method of contraception
- Reliable contraception method for women who cannot take estrogen
Some women may experience side effects following administration of Trust Pari. They usually subside after a few weeks and ease with subsequent dose injection every 12 weeks.
Side effects may include:
- Initially heavier period bleeding but can decrease to no period bleed
- Menstrual changes
- Weight changes
- Headache
- Mood changes
- Decreased desire to have sex (libido)
